Britney Spears is dying

January 31st, 2008, 11:51 am · 4 Comments · posted by mcazalas

If you need any evidence of how drugs and alcohol can take over your life, watch Britney Spears closely.

If you are morbidly drawn into this media frenzy of watching a woman slowly die in public, at least take a lesson from it.

It doesn’t matter how much money you have, or don’t have, the disease doesn’t seem to care. Spears, already lost to her two children for now, is back in the hospital.

There are thousands, tens of thousands, maybe millions who are self-destructing due to addiction to alcohol and/or drugs. Some do it faster than Spears, some slower. They live in Hollywood and they live down the street from you.

Some of them appear on A&E’s “Intervention.”

Remember this if you are one of those inclined to visit a web site mocking Spears’ meltdown to bet on whether she survives the year: you probably know someone who is suffering, just not so visibly, and they might not last the year either.

It is not a Hollywood lifestyle that we can blame, nor something we can make ourselves feel good about by saying that’s what happens to overindulgent stars.

It is a disease, and all around us people die, people we know. Take at least that much away from Britney Spears’ latest hospitalization.

  • Well said.

It just doesn’t make sense that some who seem to “have it all” many times make haste toward the end via lifestyle.

Is there ANY proof that what is happening to Britney is drug/alcohol related? PROVE IT. She has NEVER been charged with drug or alcohol abuse. What is wrong with Britney is physical and no man would understand it. With medication and time she will be fine. Oh yeah….the word is Post Partum Psychosis. Look it up.

Poor girl. She came from nothing, made a name for herself, and threw it all away. She should have stayed with Justin. Have a nice day.

I battled alcohol and drug addiction for 20 years. On again , off again. You are powerless to beat it alone. You have to get down on your knees and from the place deepest within yourself, admit that you need help, you then ask,”God, in the name of Jesus, help me.” You do this as many times as it takes. It may only take once, it may take more than one try, noone knows when you truly mean it but God. When the time comes, the most awesome power that you have ever experienced will lift you up and the battle is over. I mean over! You don’t crave it! You don’t miss it! It is gone! When you think about it , there is only intense disgust followed by the most profound feeling of being blessed and released for torment. I am no longer an alcoholic and/or drug addict. God healed me..from the inside!!
