President Obama has the energy, hope and vision for a better america. Publicans and democrats "might" pull together for a slow but organized exit from the economic turmoil. And for Iraq, the biggest presidential mistake in my life. The buck stop with Bush on this matter and now Obama will inherit this mistake. It's time for our new president to take a stand with the Iraqi people and give them a FIRM and FINAL deadline for our exit. And sooner is better than later. I'm an honorable Vietnam/Cambodian VET and get sick to my stomach today when I read the paper or watch the news and listen to the body count from Iraq. Bush, Tenet, Cheney orchestrated this useless loss of lives------american soldiers and innocent Iraqi people. "sighs"

I sure hope Crystal bought some warm clothes with her. Meemoe loves her, and is very proud of her. It is refreshing to see our young people actually excited by politics for the first time in my adult life. I entered adulthood during Vietnam where there was political excitment all right, but it was very negative. I will never forget what happened at OHIO STATE. While I I did not share her excitement about Obama, I was excited by her enthusiasm. I hope Obama can live up to what this country is expecting of him. The first test will come quickly. Let us all pray for his success. America needs what only God can provide at this point. May God bless Obama with wisdom and justice and the ability to make tough decisions that hurt in the short term but produce blessings in the future. And may God fire the entire population of Congress so we can elect some honest, brave people to do the job they have so miserably failed to do.

I have to work Tuesday---hope they broadcast some of the affair over the intercom/TV circuit. I fear some of us have unrealistic expectations, though, about what he can do. Also worry that locals will be stuck in long lines for Port-a-Potty.

Caz, I must say, Obama is not my man, but that aside, the News Herald is doing an outstanding job with this inauguration coverage, outstanding. Kudos to all of you there . This is indeed an historic occasion, and I hope our country comes from this better than we have ever been, and hope we can all remember what an enormous priviledge it is to live in this country. That is my hope and prayer.

As stated on the squall - I commit for the next 24 hours to not be party affiliated. I will Pray for our President, our Country, our Freedom and our Troops. I will respect him as our President, though thank goodness, I am free to disagree with his policies.
