Give me my $3,276 stimulus!

Are you stimulated yet?

You ought to be, one way or the other. The U.S. House just  gave you 819,000,000,000 (that’s billion) reasons to be stimulated. That’s how many dollars in spending increases and tax cuts it says are needed to pull us out of recession.

$272 Billion, one-third of the "stimulus". This pile is 250 feet long, and 125 feet wide. It's 320 feet high at the tallest point.

$272 Billion

That is a lot of money, even by my high-living standards. In fact, it’s about $3,276 for every adult in the country.

Do you think we’re better off letting the government handle the funds, or putting the $3,276 into our hands to do with as we will?

(At left is a stack of $1 bills representing one-third of the amount of the stimulus package. This pile is 250 feet long, and 125 feet wide. It’s 320 feet high at the tallest point. That is a human being and a car at its base).

Well, since I just spent the last year being responsible and sacrificing to pay off MY OWN debt…I’d buy shoes, shoes and more shoes! :)

The stimulus plan is going to have about as much positive effect on the American economy as would a 320 ft. high building constructed out of the actual dollar bills

  • blackwalk says:

I would invest it in BUD stock in anticipation of the number of people that would be having parties to celebrate the free money…

  • Onthe bayou says:

I’d save it to pay the increased taxes coming our way!

  • squallqueen says:

To answer the question: I guess I could always loan the money back to the government by buying a savings bond

  • lhgirl says:

I would more than likely put it into savings for a rainy day so giving it to me would probably not help the economy but it would make me feel better.

  • irscottyo says:

I would use it to buy my children’s college books. If there was any left over, I’d put it toward the homeowners insurance. Either way, a gouger is going to get it.

My ‘financial planner’ called and wants to refine my retirement planning. With this upcoming windfall, I’ll just tell him to keep what’s left in my IRA. Then the gov’t money goes under the mattress.

  • leavinsgrl says:

I’d pay bills. If anything was left, it would go to pay more bills.

I want a mansion, and a yacht. However, I will settle for some government cheese.

Sad to say people would be in three positions. Position #1 - Already live on Gov hand outs will waste the money on beer, smokes and to keep on keepin on with out tax dollars. Positiotn #2 - Middle class forced into lower class due to economy and lay off’s will spend the money to catch up on bills, not retail thus not helping the economy. And position #3 - Those that managed to make it and know better to spend it but buy a secured bond with it or place into savings. So we are back to position #1 to save to economy? I think not. Clark Howard for bailout Czar.

I would stimulate the economy at Best Buy with a new flat screen of course. But why are the calling the pork barrel spending bill a “stimulus package”? It is the same tune, different year.

  • Ann says:

I would probably pay some of my son’s bills, since HE is out of work and cannot find any..

  • Dave says:

The stinulus is another ploy by the government to have us think they are trying to help us when in fact still trying to detroy the middle class. What an insult to our intelligence. Let the county fall until it bounces back on it’s own.Maybe then we would be on the same playing field. The money..ohh I would do what everyone else would do, pay, pray and get ready for judgement day.

Try to eliminate as much bills possible. First have to get that money… now lets see if we all get it. So far is all talk like always !
